Have you seen the new PlanToys x Kromkommer Wonky Fruit & Vegetables Set? The set has been produced in collaboration with Kromkommer to highlight the issue of food waste. Why did we create these wonky fruit and vegetable toys? About 10% of all fruit and vegetables are wasted simply because they aren’t pretty enough. Yet there’s nothing wrong with the taste. How twisted! Kromkommer (a Dutch social enterprise) believes that we should embrace these perfectly imperfect fruit and vegetables. They should end up on our plates, rather than in the trash bin. To achieve this, we spread our love for wonky produce among as many people as possible. Kromkommer and PlanToys share a vision for a more sustainable world with less waste. By working together we developed this unique playset. With these toys, children experience the beauty and diversity of wonky fruit and vegetables. This way we show them a less wasteful and more appetising future.  Kromkommer launched the wonky fruit and vegetable toys in the Netherlands with a successful pre-sale crowdfunding campaign. A total of 516 supporters contributed €21.043 to the crowdfunding, exceeding the financial goal! With so much enthusiasm for the product, Kromkommer & PlanToys successfully launched the toys. The impressive public response and unique product resulted in wide-spread media attention in the Netherlands.  The Wonky Fruit & Vegetable Set will launch in the UK and Ireland at Top Drawer this weekend, alongside more amazing NEW PlanToys lines.  Comments are closed.
